Here comes a rant... wait for it... nearly there...

And HERE it is - aimed at people who spell "that" as "tat". Let me say this - it IS tat! And if you dont know what it means, I'll explain it for you. Tat is "tastelessness by virtue of being cheap and vulgar"! There!

In case I'm being impossibly old-fashioned, I'm going to further that impression with a few questions that have been absolutely PLAGUING me:

Is it a time-saving device, leaving out the "h" from "that" while texting or writing?

How much time could it possibly save?

What do people do with the saved time?

(And while I'm registering an effortless High on the Shrill-o-Meter, I'd like to add that yes, I AM going to run down every irritating grammatical, spelling and usage error that offends my eye and grates on my nerves, and post about them right here on this blog!)

This SMS language really irritates me too. As a friend once said - you feel like you are reading car registration numbers.

Something that irritates me even more? When someone sends me an email in SMS language AND doesn't break it up in different paragraps. Then it is just one big blob of car registration numbers. Ugh!!

Go for it, Shyam! I'll be with you every step of the way! I'm also one of those who painstakingly types out entire words in my text (and email) messages because I just cannot bear to see "words" like "u" or "gr8" or "b4" or any of those abominations that some people seem to think are cool. Rant away!

Brin, Meerster: Yeah yeah, laugh while you can! :)

Merino: You really are an old soul in a young body, arent you? :) Luv ya!

CK: Car registration numbers, hahaha! :) I agree, I hate texts with no punctuation. How about blogs written by dorky sms-ers, who use stupid spellings AND no punctuation. If there's anything that puts me off reading, it's that.

Kamini: Thank you for the support! :D Always welcome!

And so the inhabitants of a bygone era ranted away.

Clarification: Self included :-D

It speaks of their interest in the language and defines their 'type' also (flippant) -- These TAT people.

Chronic Worrier: We're the last of the era that can actually spell. I take my role seriously :-P

Teesu: Yes, it speaks of their interest in mangling the language! :)

Umm Oviya: Cum for "come" is an especial favourite hate of mine too!
