Sunday Scribblings - "Gift"

Of all the unwanted bequests that come our way, the ones that are the least welcome are those which are passed down in our genes as dangerous inheritances for unwilling recipients - sometimes from birth, like haemophilia, cystic fibrosis, Huntington's disease and so on; sometimes later in life, like diabetes, heart problems, cancer, etc.

Genetic inheritance - the gift that keeps on giving down the generations...

So true! I fell guilty about several such gifts that I have inadvertently passed along.

Recipient of one such "gift".

But what can you do? Be thankful that it is not something worse I guess!

Granny Smith: The important word is "inadvertently" - no point feeling guilt over what's not in your control to avoid.

Hearing Loss - a condition called otosclerosis.

Hearing Aids help. I could go in for surgery - but the downside is it could result in permanent deafness and/or loss of balance - not very favourable odds!

Agree with you not Granny Smith's fault at all.
