Eye-rritating observation

Why must the Americans pronounce the words Iraq and Iran as “Eye-raq” and “Eye-ran”?

Eye-diots.

Amrikans wants to know - when Eyes cream (icecream), Eyecycle (icicle) and Eye land (island) is spelled that why not Eye-Raq.

Brits think they are master of english and Amrikans can't accept that . They are super power you know ; ).

ROFL!! Eye-diots indeed! I find (to my horror) that I am joining the clan of the eye-diots pretty fast. What? It happens, you know! When you hear Eye-ran, Eye-raq over and over and over, you start thinking Eye-ran and Eye-raq :(

Shyam, been a long time reader and had to de-lurk for your "eye-rritating observation"... I have found this Eye-raq thing so annoying, especially when news readers butcher it! It's also interesting to note that it's only Eye-raq and Eye-ran and not Eye-taly.

Nothing wrong in what they say - if you listen properly:

"I - Wreck" and "I - ruin"!!
